The International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) are pleased to invite you to the Free Open Webinar on Anti-Corruption, Diplomacy and New Technologies, as part of the IACA-UNITAR Master and Executive Diploma in Anti-Corruption and Diplomacy. The Open Webinar will take place on Wednesday, 14 July 2021, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. CEST. Interested participants can register here.
In today’s increasingly interconnected, digitalized, and globalized world, technological advancements have led to new forms of practices of corruption and digital crime. As such, new innovative approaches must be adopted to combat corruption on an international scale. Multilateral diplomatic efforts become increasingly relevant in addressing this important issue, resulting in the nexus between technology, diplomacy, and anti-corruption becoming more apparent than ever.
The disruptive effect of rapid digitalization on current processes and practices has led to an increased focus in the world of international relations and security on cybercrime and digital diplomacy. The modern fast-paced environment binds diplomacy and anti-corruption in a mutually dependent circle: diplomatic success is impossible with corruption looming…while anti-corruption efforts are hindered if diplomatic activities are weak.
Within this grand picture of multilateral anti-corruption efforts, modern technology plays a crucial role. It is imperative that any specialist dealing with anti-corruption and international relations understands both the complex problems and innovative solutions brought by new technologies.
This Open Webinar is part of the IACA – UNITAR Master and Executive Diploma in Anti-Corruption and Diplomacy. Participants of this free event will have the unique opportunity to gain exclusive insight into the Master and Executive Diploma, as well as to meet professors of the course!
